Troubleshooting an EmailPointer Issue
Troubleshooting an EmailPointer Issue
If you’re experiencing an issue with an Outlook add-in like EmailPointer, one of the first troubleshooting steps you can try is booting Outlook in safe mode. Booting in safe mode will disable all add-ins, allowing you to determine if the issue you are experiencing is being caused by an add-in or another factor.
To boot Outlook in safe mode, follow these steps:
- Close Outlook.
- Press and hold the Ctrl key while you start Outlook.
- When the “Microsoft Outlook” dialog box appears, click “Yes”
Outlook will now start in safe mode and all add-ins will be disabled. If the issue you were experiencing no longer occurs in safe mode, it is likely that an add-in is causing the problem. You can then try enabling the add-ins one by one to identify the culprit.
If the issue persists in safe mode, it is likely that the problem is not being caused by an add-in. In this case, you may want to try other troubleshooting steps such as repairing your Outlook installation or checking for updates.
It is also a good idea to ensure that you have the latest version of EmailPointer, as updates may fix known issues. If you are unable to resolve the issue, it may be helpful to contact support@westernim.com.
